My Story
Hello, my name is Catherine Arevalo. I’m an Illustrator/Animator based in New Jersey.
For as long as I can remember, I was always drawing. Whether it be a butterfly, dinosaurs, anime, or Disney I just wanted to get better and better. I knew that I wanted to just draw all the time. I thank my mother because she became a major influence. When I was younger, she painted Disney characters on wooden pieces and would hang them all over my room. As I started to get better, she asked me or my sister to draw in the hands (my least favorite part) or the face. Both my sister and I always pushed each other in our drawing skills and eventually developed completely different styles. Then in 2017, I graduated from Montclair State University with a BFA in Animation/Illustration. Currently, I freelance.
I love working with traditional media and trying to make my digital pieces have the same effect. I was Exhibited in a Group Show in Galerie Protegé in New York. There I showcased “Elephish” and “Girowl” which I had also designed and framed myself.
